Woke up this morning to docking at Port Limon, Costa Rica. Heavy rain squalls came through but it cleared up. The rest of the day was HOT and Humid. Our excursion didn't leave until noon so we spent a lazy morning reading and hangin' out.
Porto Limon isn't very interesting. We're the only ship here and nothing much else is going on, unlike previous ports which were humming with activity.
Our excursion this afternoon was a wildlife boat ride in the Tortuguero Canals, about 20 minutes away. The Tortuguero canals is an extensive series of natural canals and man made ones that runs parallel to the coast on the Atlantic side. I recalled boating in the canals when we visited Costa Rica in 2017. What made this amazing is the we saw 5 or 6 SLOTHS! Our tour guide, Humberto, was well informed and pretty funny! Our boat driver, typical of all these guys, was a real "eagle eyed" spotter.
For our final "specialty dinner" tonight we went to the Tamarind up on deck 11. We enjoyed an excellent Southeast Asian dinner.
(Note: all week we have been on "Trump Indictment" watch. Manhattan D.A. Bragg was supposedly ready to indict, be he keeps delaying. We are all ready to get this waiting over with!)
Our trip is coming to an end. Its about 1200 nautical miles to Ft. Lauderdale. The captain says we'll be cruising for the next two days at 21 knots (!). Tonight, the ship is rolling a lot. Its hard to walk in a straight line!
